A HydraFacial is basically a super intense facial that involves the following four things:

  1. Exfoliation
  2. Chemical Peel
  3. Extractions
  4. Special Hydration Serum

I know you may think this is the same routine you receive when you go to your esthetician, but I can assure you that this is not your average facial. The technology and serums used in HydraFacials have actually been patented to ensure your skin is clear of the following three things:

  1. Hyper-pigmentation
  2. Breakouts
  3. Wrinkles

I have never seen such immediate results in my skin before! My face was softer, free from blemishes and was literally glowing all month long! After I received compliments that I looked younger, that was the point of no return and I have made an effort to get one HydraFacial a month to ensure my skin stays beautiful and, most importantly, healthy!

In addition, please follow these three beauty tips before your facial:

  1. Do NOT plan something important within 24 hours after your facial. Your skin may be red that day or the day after and you do NOT want to put any make-up on or it will clog your pores.
  2. Reduce sugar intake and increase water intake the week before and the week after your facial. This will maximize your skins receptivity to the treatment.
  3. If you need to do any hair removal processes this must be done at least one week prior. If you do it too closely to the facial, your skin could peel and become unsightly.

The very first beauty face mask I ever tried was a little peel-off cucumber mask that my mom got me from the drugstore.  To this day they are still one of my favorite beauty treatments to do at home.  These are a few that I’ve tried and love.

Nothing says “spa day” like cool cucumber slices placed over your eyes.  Cucumbers are a staple in the beauty world because they contain mega antioxidants like vitamin C and vitamin K that help fight dark circles and puffiness.  The benefits don’t stop there.  Antothenic acid, or vitamin B-5 is another compound found in cucumbers that helps your skin retain moisture. The vitamin A in cucumbers helps control your skin’s production of melanin so it lightens freckles and dark spots.  Don’t say we never taught you anything!  Check out some of our favorite cucumber beauty products below!

FOREO-LUNA-SKIN-TYPE-The Foreo Luna is the greatest thing to happen since the Clarisonic.  Dare I say it’s BETTER than the Clarisonic?  We think so.  Made entirely of silicone, it fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, lasts up to 450 uses per full charge and requires no replacement brushes.  The device comes in 3 models tailored to cater to specific skin types, and a less expensive “Luna mini” version.FOREO_LUNA_mini_packshot

It took a little getting used to because I was so used to using the clarisonic and having the brushes, the silicone bristles feel so much different.  It didn’t feel like it was actually cleaning my skin, so I was a bit aggressive and used a bit too much pressure in the beginning.  After about a week of using it morning and night, I really got the hang of it and absolutely fell in LOVE with it.  I really like how gentle it is, yet it cleanses so well.  The silicon bristles are so gentle and way more hygienic than regular brush bristles.

Another feature that I really love is the anti-aging surface on the back of the device.  After I wash and cleanse my face using the front, I rinse and apply my anti-wrinkle cream and moisturizer and use the anti-aging surface with the low frequency pulsations to help the creams penetrate.

I can’t see myself ever going back to using the Clarisonic after this.  All the features, along with the compact size make it a permanent fixture on my countertop.

4138vErdnsL._SX425_I was given a sample of the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Peel a few weeks ago on a recent Sephora run.  I forgot all about it until last night.  I keep all of my samples that I want to try in a little basket under my sink, and sometimes they get lost in the shuffle.  My skin has been super dry since the weather change and I’ve changed my skincare routine to accommodate the cooler, drier climate, and that includes doing more peels on my face.  I honestly wasn’t expecting anything amazing from this Pumpkin Enzyme Peel although I do love the Peter Thomas Roth line.  I swear I was half asleep, and almost too lazy to even try it.

I LOVE this product!  I felt a tingling right when I put it on, which I like.  Some people don’t like to feel tingling or burning because they have sensitive skin, but I like feeling a little something because I know it’s working.  It smells SO incredible, I almost want to eat it! And it left my face feeling so smooth and hydrated.  I woke up this morning and noticed my skin doesn’t look as dull.  I’m so happy I stumbled upon this little sample of a gem last night, I will definitely be buying the full size.  Im obsessed!

Dr.-Dennis-Gross-Skincare-Steamer-Solutions-Facial-DeviceMy skin always gets a little crazy when the weather starts changing.  Right now it’s dry and I have a bunch of clogged pores in my T-zone.  One thing that is consistent no matter where I go for a treatment is the use of steam on my face.  It opens my pores and allows the products to really be absorbed and do their job.  So that’s how I discovered this little gem from Dr. Dennis Gross.  This at home face steamer costs $125 at Sephora. I’ve used it twice this week already and its practically paid for itself. (The average price of a facial is well above $100 in most places.)  I love being able to do this in my own home instead of finding the time to make it to the spa.  The amount of steam this produces is amazing t’s professional quality and so easy to use, so much easier and more effective than the DIY way of holding your face over a boiling pot of water. Men always talking about women purposely leaving items behind at their place to have an excuse to see them again.  I always have girlfriends coming thru LA and staying with me while they’re in town.  And they always manage to leave something behind.  I have a decent size collection of clothes, and jewelry that don’t belong to me.  I recently found a tube of Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Masque in my bathroom cabinet, I don’t know who it belonged to but I decided to try it out.  And guess what…. Im keeping it for myself because this stuff is amazing!!!!! It’s packed with Vitamins A, C, E and F and it left my skin so supple and hydrated.  Everyone need to try this.  Thank you to which ever one of my friends left this behind.
